What is a Race Into Blending?

Race Into Blending sessions are designed to intentionally close the gaps that often prevent early readers from successfully blending sounds into words. These sessions focus on helping children hear individual sounds clearly, connect those sounds to letters, and smoothly blend them together to read simple words with confidence. Through hands-on, engaging, and developmentally appropriate activities, children move from isolated sounds to connected reading in a way that feels doable and encouraging. By strengthening this critical bridge between letter sounds and whole words, Race Into Blending prepares early readers to blend their first CVC words independently and builds the strong phonics foundation needed for lasting reading success.
