What is a Make and Take?

Make & Take: A Literacy Workshop for Moms

Make & Take is a special parent-only session designed to help you bring meaningful literacy activities home to your little one.

During this session, moms will create a hands-on, laminated literacy activity to take home and use with their child. For this Make & Take, we’ll be focusing on syllables and how to help young children hear and play with the parts of words.

While you craft your activity, we’ll also talk about how to get started with literacy at home—what skills to focus on first, how to keep learning playful, and simple ways to build your child’s early reading foundation without turning it into a worksheet-filled lesson.

This is a parent-only event. Children should not attend because the Make & Take involves crafting materials and tools that are not appropriate for young children to be present around.

You’ll leave with:
